What is Hogar Diamante?
it is a home for children and teenagers of and from the streets with problems of vagrancy and inhalation od psychoactive substances (thinner, gasoline, paste, and others).
The Home, which is located in the valley of Amarateca, Francisco Morazán, km 22 Highway to the north, was founded June 25, 1985.
Hogar Diamante is a responsible unit of the Association Renovated Youth (AJR) The Association is a private non profit institution (ONG), with legally constituited by the Executive Power of the state of Honduras May 21 of 1986, with resolution number 29-86.
The Association is characterized by its high social commitments based on moral, spiritual and ethical values, oriented towards strengthening a culture of national solidarity, working especially with the least protected children of Honduras and their Families.

Being an institution with a strong commitment with the rights of Honduran children, providing concrete answers in favor of children and youth in a situation of vulnerability living in the streets and abusing drugs.
Mission
Development of rehabilitation programs using proyects that foment the integral education of unprotected children and youth within Honduran society, through personalized psychotherapeutic and pedagogic processes, in order to elevate the quality of life of these children and of their.
General Objectives
Offerin attention to children with problems of vagrancy and of inhalation of psuchoactive substances. in short, the doctrine of integral protection consists of assisting and child in a integral form taking into consideration all his material and spiritual necessities, incluiding food, housing, recreation, moral protection, material and spiritual support, as well as psychological, social and pedagogic aid, and pre-vocational training. For their attention and protection each chid's real situation is considered, taking into account their family and their enviroment or community. The child or youth is prepared for his reintegration into the family and/or into society through several programs.
Specific Objetives
within the frame of the Children's Right's Convention and of national legislation the objectives of Hogar Diamante are summarized in the following points.
- working with the children's family, for here lies the primary cause of the situation of social risk that the children and youthfind themselves in.
- Maintain a strong follow-up program of eternal support for each boy and youth thatleaves the Home.
- To be actively affiliated to the National Coordinator of Private Institutions for Children's rights. (COIPRODEN) and trough them contribuite to the definition of politics and strategies of action and attention to children that live on the streets.
- To have a strong technical-vocational training program through different workshops. These workshops include bakery, carpentry, crafts, agriculture, pork-raising, and forestry. Considering work as an indispensable value in forming a new, diligent, positive, creative, and productive culture, whose results will be: the strengthening of self-streem and pride of the children, as well as strengthening their self sufficiency as a fundamental for both personal and national development.
